JAPAN (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Japan's Prime Minister is calling the nuclear threat in the country "grave and serious" after a major breach at the crippled power plant.
The situation of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear power plant reactor #3 has deteriorated rapidly.
During the over night hours the reactor had its biggest breach yet. The reactor is now leaking high amounts of radiation.
Plant workers are continuing to stabilize the reactor but three workers recently had to be rushed to a hospital for medical treatment after suffering burns from radioactive water.
The new fear is that their actions to repair the reactor are too late and that workers will need to evacuate before there is a full-scale meltdown.
A new survey of eight locations spread over more than 40 miles of the Pacific Ocean are now showing levels of dangerous levels of radiation.
In the meantime, the United States is sending two barges, containing 500,000 gallons of fresh water to Japanese crews, working at the plant.
