Man Dies Exploring An Indiana Cave

CORYDON, Ind. (21Alive) -- Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the death of a caver near Corydon yesterday evening.

Harrison County Dispatch received a 911 call due to an unresponsive male in a cave located off Steam Engine Road. A group of experienced cavers were exploring Blowing Hole Cave, a portion Binkley's Cave System, before a member of their group went unresponsive.

CPR was administered by members of the group, but the attempts to revive the victim were unsuccessful.

According to the Indiana DNR, the conditions in the cave are treacherous including chest deep water, strenuous crawls, and tight crevices.
