INDIANAPOLIS (21Alive) - The City of Indianapolis has placed its official bid for the 2018 Super Bowl.

City officials sent their intentions to each of the 32 National Football League teams hoping to garner support for hosting Super Bowl LII.

A formal presentation will accompany the bid on May 20. The two-volume presentation is on display at the Indiana Sports Corporation offices. Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay will participate in the presentation, despite a March arrest.

So far, $30 million has been raised to fund the Super Bowl effort.

New Orleans and Minneapolis are also in the running for Super Bowl LII.
