INDIANAPOLIS (21Alive) - One of three trials a deadly Indianapolis home explosion will held outside of Marion County.

A judge granted Mark Leonard's defense team's change of venue request on Wednesday after the prosecutor withdrew her challenge to the move.

A new location for the trial has not been set, but Allen County court officials tell 21Alive that Allen County is under formal consideration to hold proceedings in Leonard's case.

Leonard is one of three people charged with murder, arson and conspiracy to commit arson in the November 2012 explosion that killed a neighbor and damaged or destroyed dozens of homes in Richmond Hills addition.

The defense requested the change of venue, saying the media coverage; and the judge finding too many potential jurors with knowledge of the case.

Leonard's ex-girlfriend, Monserrate Shirley, and his brother, Bob Leonard, face the same charges, and will have separate trials. Shirley and Bob Leonard have also filed for changes in venue.
