INDIANA (21Alive) -- A group of Indiana educators, led by State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Glenda Ritz, is heading to China to visit schools, meet with education and government officials and examine teaching practices.

According to an article in the Post-Tribune, the delegation of educators from across the state will be visiting China from October 9th through the 19th to discuss assessment and teacher evaluation methods in the public school system there.

The group will also visit cultural sites in Shanghai, Hangzhou and Beijing.

The trip is organized by a not-for-profit group, Global Indiana: A Consortium for International Exchange, which had been providing trips for educators since 1997.
