VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (RTV6) -- A woman was accused of DUI Wednesday night while her 2-year-old granddaughter was riding in her SUV, police said.

About 11 p.m., an Indiana State Police trooper said a 2003 Chevy Tahoe swerved on St. Joseph Avenue near Mohr Road, nearly striking his patrol car.

The trooper pulled the driver over and noticed a girl was also in the vehicle.

The driver was identified as Tamara Tevault, 49, of Evansville. Police said she told them she had taken Clonazepam, Hydrocodone and a morphine pill.

Tevault faced a felony charge of DUI with a passenger under 18.

She was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where she was being held without bond.
