INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - An Indiana State Representative (R) Phillip Hinkle is under scrutiny Friday evening for allegedly using Craigslist to solicit an 18-year-old man to his hotel room.

E-mails given to the Indianapolis Star indicate that Hinkle offered the man $80 to spend time with him Saturday night at a hotel.

Hinkle as well as his attorney are not commenting on the matter.

Hinkle, a Catholic and married man, has voted in the past for an anti-marriage equality amendment, which defines marriage as only being between a man and a woman, to the Indiana state constitution.

He represents a district near Indianapolis.
