FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Local businesses are doing their part to help get at-risk young men off the streets.

Parkview, Sweetwater Sound and other companies will hire them.

The S.C.O.R.E. initiative is built on the foundation that some young men might need help with skills they will need to be employed long-term.

So Securing Confidence On the Road to Employment will target men 18 to 30, drug test them, put them through stringent screenings, and require them to attend classes on family, faith and fatherhood, as well as how to keep a job, and do it well.

“There's going to be a very rigorous screening process to see what skill sets they have. We'll be matching up candidates with the ideal job profile and really looking to make sure that this is a success. Not just for the individual, but there's going to be a natural win for us as a company, as well,” says Parkview Randallia’s Ben Miles.

A committee comprised of members of religious institutions, law enforcement and local businesses will screen the candidates and help identify job opportunities for them.
