FORT WAYNE, Ind. - (Indiana's NewsCenter) - It's still a big question, could Mayor Tom Henry leave the Summit City for the capital city? A number of sources have speculated that democratic gubernatorial candidate John Gregg will ask Fort Wayne's mayor to run on his ticket as lieutenant governor.

Saturday Gregg made a visit to Fort Wayne. He says so far no decision has been made. Mayor Tom Henry attended the event with Gregg at the Plumber's and Steamfitter's Local Union 166 on Ludwig Road. Henry praised Gregg and showed his support for him. The Mayor also said how proud he is, and happy he is to be in his current role as mayor.

Henry and Gregg were joined by many other democratic nominees running this year. Gregg says he has talked with many people about being his running mate. He wouldn't give a definite answer but said Henry has many of the qualities he is looking for.

"We want people who have a record of being bipartisan, that are concerned first and foremost about creating jobs, that want to be a public servant, have an understanding of government and I think you'd find Mayor Henry fits all of those bills," said John Gregg, Gubernatorial Candidate (D).

Gregg says he will make the official announcement of who will be his running mate at the democratic convention in Fort Wayne next month.
