Do you remember what it was like to play video games before the internet came around? If you wanted to play against a friend, you would have to do so under the same roof.

More than a hundred people came together today to play the "old way" at the FortLAN gaming party. The party allowed people to bring their computers to hook into the local area network to do battle, play games, and just have fun together in the same room.

An organizer of the event says the party is an opportunity to get out and do something different, and you get to meet a lot of new people. He says they want to pur Fort Wayne on the gaming map.

FortLAN was a large gaming group in Fort Wayne. They would host LAN parties with 300 plus gamers involved. But when the leader of the group left, so did the group.

A local group of gamers are bringing it back with hopes thatit will grow into the huge event that it used to be.
