UNDATED (21Alive) – General Motors announced two more recalls late Friday, bringing the total number to 4.8 million cars, trucks and SUVs the automaker has called back for repairs in the past month.
GM announced it would recall nearly 500,000 late-model pickup trucks and SUVs because potential fires could occur due to transmission oil cooling lines that weren't secured properly in their fittings.
The recall affects 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 pickup trucks, as well as 2015 Chevy Suburban and Tahoe SUVs and the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs.
Also Friday night, GM announced the recall of 172,000 Chevy Cruze compact cars from the 2013 and 2014 model years because the right front axle shaft can fracture and separate while being driven causing the vehicle to lose power.
