ALBION, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) --- Still no answers to the mystery of what happened to a Fort Wayne woman whose body was pulled from a Noble County lake last week.
But there is new information about the victim's background.
Indiana’s NewsCenter spoke Monday with an employee at a strip club, who said 36-year old Erin Justin had worked as an exotic dancer at several Fort Wayne nightclubs.
She turned up missing in mid-June before her body was discovered by a fisherman floating on the surface of Bartley Lake near Albion on July 20th.
A medical examiner used dental and fingerprint records to ID the woman July 22nd.
A source tells us divers who recovered the body found evidence that cinder blocks were tied to the woman's feet to weigh the body down.
Justin had minor crimes on her record, including drug charges in her past.
Michael Bryant, a recovering alcoholic, says he became acquainted with Justin because of their shared struggles with addiction.
He says she periodically stayed at his place, when she had nowhere else to live.
He was very emotional in speaking about her death.
Michael Bryant/Friend of Erin Justin: " I was angry and I still get choked up about it. It feels like somebody kicked me in the stomach and I can't breathe. I just wish that there was more that I could do. I keep second guessing myself."
The Noble County Sheriff's office indicated on Monday there was no additional information about progress in the case, including any possible suspects.
Bryant says Justin cleaned house for an acquaintance living at Bartley Lake.
But it’s not clear if that person had anything to do with the death or disposal of the body.
Bryant claims he learned from police that the woman’s hands were also bound.
Police and the Noble County Prosecutor refuse to discuss details of the condition of the body.
