SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (www.incnow.tv) -- An unique Valentine's gift is being offered by an Southfield attorney: a free divorce.

Attorney Walter H. Bentley III got the idea when he was invited to a party to celebrate a divorce being finalized. It made him think about divorce in a different way. He says you need to close the last chapter if you want to find new love this Valentine's Day.

His website provides details which include that the divorce must by uncontested with no or minimum child custody issues. Tuesday night is the last night to enter the contest.

According to ABCnews.com approximately 500 people have applied so far.

Bentley and his colleagues will narrow down the submissions and then chose the most compelling story as the winner. Bentley says having a major or terminal illness may help the winner, if for instance, that is the reason their spouse no longer wants to be with them.

There may be other Valentine's Day divorce offers but Bentley's is a paid-in-full divorce. Bentley will cover all the expenses, including the fees and court costs, which can average around $1,500 to $3,000.
