WARSAW, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A small business owner in Warsaw got more than she bargained for.
Missy Ambrose recently bought a dresser at an estate sale for her Miss Thrifty resale shop.
After forcing open a stubborn drawer, she and her assistant Nick Winters found a manilla envelope containing $5,000 dollars in savings bonds!
After doing some internet research, Ambrose contacted the auctioneer to send the bonds back.
"We should do the right thing, make sure the money goes to the rightful owner, and what comes around goes around. I told her that karma is coming your way, you know? Because we're doing the right thing," Winters told her.
"I've heard of people taping things on the bottom of their drawers, so always, always check everything. You just never know what you're going to find," Ambrose says.
The auctioneer will track down the heir of the savings bonds.
