FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – You've probably noticed several Fort Wayne firefighters with neon vests standing in the middle of the road while driving around lately. It’s because they’re collecting money for MDA.

Since Thursday, local firefighters have been at various intersections collecting money for their "Fill the Boot" campaign. All proceeds go directly to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

Last year, the International Association of Firefighters Local 124 led both the state of Indiana and the 8th District in money collected for MDA research for the past 11 years.
