FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A convicted murderer repeatedly told Fort Wayne police he wanted to confess to another homicide.
And according to court documents, he finally has.
33-year-old Joseph Kast is already serving 55-years at Indiana State Prison for stabbing to death Earl Bowman, a Huntington County building inspector in 2002.
And now, Kast has admitted he repeatedly stabbed and killed 85-year-old Claude Berkshire in his garage at a home on Juliette Avenue in Fort Wayne that same year.
He said he wanted to rob the older man, who bled to death.
He's now charged with murder in Berkshire's death and will be brought to Allen County to be formally read the charge in court.
Indiana's NewsCenter has learned Kast has also allegedly confessed to killing a missing man and scattering his remains in a wooded area of the city.
