FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – A Fort Wayne firefighter was injured battling a heavy blaze Sunday morning.

Though officials say the injury was minor, the firefighter was taken to a hospital for further evaluation. Fire officials did not say what the firefighter’s injuries are.

Flames broke out at a vacant house early Sunday at 312 E. Masterson Avenue.

Fire officials say the already condemned structure sustained even more damage from the fire, but it was brought under control in 20 minutes.

No word on what caused the flames.
