Glenbrook Square Now Open After Fire (VIDEO & PHOTOS)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Glenbrook Square Mall is evacuated after a fire broke out in a service hallway.

It happened a little before 3:45 p.m. Saturday. Authorities responded to Glenbrook Square Mall after receiving a call of the smell of smoke and that the fire alarms were activated. Crews found heavy smoke coming from a service hallway near the east entrance of the mall near JC Penney. Crews determined the fire began in a storage room.

The mall was evacuated as a precaution, but no one was injured and there was no damage to any stores.

Fire sprinklers were activated in the area and helped to contain the fire before crews arrived. Crews had the fire out a little before 4:00 p.m.

Around 5:30 p.m. employees were let back inside.

At this time, the mall is completely open.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Fire Department.
