Federal Court Rules that Hoosier State Must Fund Planned Parenthood

October 23, 2012 Updated Oct 23, 2012 at 5:25 PM EDT

Chicago (www.incnow.tv) - An effort to defund Planned Parenthood in the Hoosier state has been thrown out by the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago.

The court upheld the core portion of a lower court order that said Indiana cannot enforce a state law that barred abortion providers from collecting Medicaid funds for any medical services.

You may recall, Governor Mitch Daniels signed a law in 2011 that made the Hoosier state the first in the nation to deny the organization Medicaid funds.
