NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Harold Bruce of Wolcottville faces an Operating While Intoxicated charge and other counts following a two-vehicle crash this weekend.

Police say his car collided with another vehicle at County Roads 500 East and 415 North in Noble County around 7:30 Sunday evening.

Bruce allegedly told officers at the scene his brakes weren't working, but officials say the evidence showed otherwise. They say there were skid marks from his tires and open alcoholic beverage containers in and around his car.

Bruce and his wife were hospitalized with neck and back injuries. Their daughters, 6 year old Katelinn and 4 month old Megan, were also hospitalized with internal injuries. Katelinn was last said to be in serious condition, but a condition for Megan was not available. Police believe the girls were not properly restrained in their child seats.

The family in the other vehicle were not seriously injured. The driver, Michael Burton of Fort Wayne, told police Bruce's car had pulled out in front of his and he couldn't stop in time to avoid the crash.
