Ansley Avenue Fatal Shooting: Victim ID'd

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -The Allen County Coroner’s Office has concluded its autopsy on the man who was shot and killed Monday morning in the 700 block of Ansley Avenue in Southwest Allen County.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old Sultan Ibn Salahud-din of Fort Wayne.

Salahud-din death is the county's first homicide of the year.

Around 6:45 a.m. Monday, police were summoned to a home southwest of Fort Wayne in the 700 block of Ansley Drive.

Two men met officers outside the home, telling them someone in the house had been shot.

Corporal Jeremy Tinkel Public Information Officer for the Allen County Sheriff's Department says, "Officers then went to clear the house, in the bedroom there was a male black that was deceased, several gunshots to the chest."

Police interviewed the two witnesses who met police at the home.

At last report, no arrests had been made.
