INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Mourners will begin saying goodbye Monday afternoon to the Indianapolis Police Officer who died last week after being shot four times by a man police say didn't want to go back to jail.

Public visitation will be held beginning at 2pm Monday afternoon for Officer David Moore who died last Wednesday after being shot four times.

Officer Moore was attempting to stop Thomas hardy for a routine traffic stop when he was shot by 60-year-old Thomas Hardy according to police.

Funeral arrangements are set for Tuesday.

Prosecutors are expected to decide within about a month whether to seek the death penalty against hardy, who state correction officials say had been erroneously released from jail in December.
