On the heels of some positive news from Indiana's Department of Education and ISTEP testing, Dr. Wendy Robinson is focusing on a new school year.
Robinson said the district continues to struggle with decreasing funding from the state and FWCS is projecting an $8-million dollar deficit for the 2012 school year. Anything short of a change in state revenue will likely force serious cutbacks next year.
Robinson also is concerned about the impact of school vouchers on public schools. The district has concerns that some private schools will select the students they want. Dr. Robinson will be the guest on Impact this Sunday to discuss topics ranging from student behavior to tight education budgets. Impact airs Sunday at noon on 21-alive.
