Students from 12 Fort Wayne Community Schools show off their creativity for the annual Fort Wayne Area PTA Council's Reflections and Citizenship Essay Showcase.

The theme of this year's Reflections program is "The Majic of the Moment." Students expressed themselves through literature, visual art, photography, dance choreography, film and video production, and musical composition. The Reflections program is for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Winners of the Citizenship Essay contest are also on display. The theme of the Essay contest is "How We Can Help People," which was suggested by Harris Elementary student Destanie Wilson. The Essay contest is for students in fourth grade through 12th grade.

Several winners from each contest will be sent to the state competition which will take place in spring.

Kathie Green, The Fort Wayne Area PTA Council President, says art shows like this are fun for the students because they get to bring their family and friends and show-off their artwork.

Green says PTA specifically loves this program because "it encourages creativity and imagination in students. Sometimes that gets lost in the hustle and bustle of core curriculum and testing so this is a program we can really get behind."
