FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Fort Wayne Community Schools is giving parents the opportunity to learn more about educational options available in the school district.

Northrop High School was the host for the Second Annual School Choice Fair Saturday.

The free event highlights the district's elementary, middle and high schools, including FWCS' seven magnet schools and special programs.

The school choice fair provides parents a chance to receive information and ask questions about how to choose and apply for the program that best suits their children's needs.

“It's really important for the parents to know what the school is (like) that their child is going to. Who's there, what the programs are, the various schools have to offer. It's a great way to get our parents engaged and involved in their child's school,” said Krista Stockman, spokesperson for FWCS.

The school choice fair also gives parents the opportunity to learn more about the departments supporting the schools, such as transportation, nutrition services, academic services, facilities and more.
