FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Officials say Fort Wayne Community Schools are cutting employee hours because of the Affordable Health Care Act.

The school districts say they are cutting the hours of 600 employees by 5 hours per week.

Under the provision of the health care law, anyone working 30 hours a week would be eligible for employer-provided health care coverage.

Fort Wayne Community Schools Superintendent, Wendy Robinson, says officials looked at the numbers and figured it would cost the school system $10 million dollars a year if employee hours were not cut.
