FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Officials with the Fort Wayne Urban League are striving toward solving the city’s violence issues.

They will unveil their community action plan at a meeting Thursday at 6 p.m.

The plan is a culmination of months of brainstorming, engaging the community through several public forums and getting feedback from concerned citizens.

The project was spurred-on by an increase in violence this year.

There have been more than 30 homicides in Allen County in 2013.
