FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Union members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic will hold a musical protest Friday.

A Brass Quintet will play at Summit Square around lunchtime as other members of the Players' Association hand out leaflets.

The Philharmonic and the Players' Association are locked into a somewhat heated contract negotiation.

According to Players' Union officials, the last contract proposal would cut the work schedule by 8 weeks and reportedly cost players an estimated $5,400 in salary.

Orchestra officials were not available for comment after last week’s meetings.
