FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Quick thinking on the port of a local woman might have helped improved the condition of a man injured in a crash Monday afternoon in DeKalb County.

Around 4:00, Indiana State Police say a pick-up truck driven by Aaron Wilhelm, 27, of Waterloo, crossed the median into northbound Interstate 69 traffic in the 336 milemarker and hit two semi-trucks.

Wilhelm was pinned inside his truck, and had a hip injury.

Lori Hunt witnessed the crash, and worked to avoid flying debris. After the crash, Hunt helped Wilhelm, saying she used a sweatshirt to slow Wilhelm's bleeding.

Wilhelm was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital in serious condition.

One of the semi drivers, Charles Correll, was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital with a head injury.

The other semi driver was not injured.
