FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Visitors experienced what life was like in the 16th and 17th Centuries and the Old Fort Reenactment.

Ever wondered what life was like 500 years ago? People got a chance to learn all about it Sunday at the Historic Old Fort.

The reenactment focused on the experience of being in a mercenary company. Visitors got to see what soldiers and civilians in the Age of Discovery wore, ate, and how they trained with their weapons.

The event organizer says this kind of event helps educate people on this very important time in our world's history.

“This is a very under represented period of time. You don't see a lot of this going on here in the U.S. Some people say how is this relevant to U.S history? This is the same time period that you see the first permanent settlements in America---Jamestown, Quebec, St. Augustine, so this is that same time period,” said Tom Wojcinski, Coordinator.

Actors portrayed soldiers from England, Spain, France, Germany, and Poland at the Old Fort.
