FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Erin’s House for Grieving Children recently announced that it was awarded a $10,000 Community Impact Grant from New York Life to support their Camp Good Grief for kids ages 8-13.

Representatives from the company’s Fort Wayne Sales Office were the guests of honor at the Camp Good Grief closing ceremony.

“Because of New York Life, Erin’s House was able to provide this entire camp program at no cost to our participants and their families,” said Cindy Maldonado-Schaefer, Erin’s House Director of Operations.

“It is an honor to work for New York Life. Particularly when we have an opportunity like this, to make a difference in our community.” said Dan Doehrmann, Agent with the company’s Fort Wayne Sales Office.

The Community Impact Grant program awards grants of up to $25,000 to local nonprofit organizations which address the needs of the community and are supported by New York Life agents and employees. Two hundred sixty grants totaling more than $3.1 million have been awarded since the program’s inception in 2008. This marks the second time Erin’s House has received this grant since 2011.
