FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. (RTV6) -- Two 18-year-old men were arrested Saturday after an elderly pair were found slain in their rural southern Indiana home.
Kevin Schuler and Austin Scott were arrested on unrelated charges, but authorities expect robbery and murder charges will be filed against them.
A family friend found the bodies at the a home on Walk Drive, near Whiskey Run Road, about 15 miles west of Louisville.
One of the victims had been stabbed and the other had been beaten to death, Harrison County Sheriff Rod Seelye said.
Authorities said one of the suspects knew the victims and that robbery was the motive.
"This was a senseless crime. It was heinous. This was an elderly couple who were beaten and stabbed to death for money. I don't understand it," Seelye said.
The teens came in through an unlocked door, police said, stealing prescription pills, credit cards and guns.
Schuler and Scott were arrested late Saturday and were being held Sunday in the Floyd County Jail.
WHAS-TV reported that the killings marked the first homicide in Harrison County in three years.
