FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – A Fort Wayne missionary from Sierra Leone has come to terms with the fact that going back home to help run a school will not be as easy as it used to be because of the Ebola virus.
Francis Mustafa spoke with 21Alive earlier this week about the Ebola outbreak in Africa.
Mustafa says he’s putting off his trip to return to the school for a number of reasons—the most obvious one being the risk of contracting the deadly Ebola virus, but also returning to Indiana and putting others at risk.
"Number one, the people there will be about my own safety and that kind of stuff and so on. Plus the misinformation – even if I go and coming back here that could be a problem,” he said.
Mustafa went on to say he doesn't want to put himself, his family and his community in any danger.
