FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- Sending your little ones off to school for the first time is a big adjustment but imagine sending them to a school with high schoolers.

That's the concern of some parents in the East Allen County School District.

Under the redesign plan to stave of the district's budget deficit, Woodlan Junior/Senior High School is being converted to K through twelve.

Fourth through sixth graders will move in this fall while kindergarteners through third graders will move in the fall of 2012.

The district is working with parents for ideas on how to make the younger students feel more comfortable such as sectioning the school off.
