FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Members of Voices of Unity went to Shaoxing, China with "Dreams of Gold," and will come back home with real gold.

Choir officials say they won two gold medals at the World Choir Games. They were named Champions in a gold medal victory in the Gospel and Spiritual category. The other gold was in the Popular Choral Music category. The awards ceremony was held Sunday night (Eastern Standard Time) on the final day of the nearly two week event. Later this morning, the choir will perform in the Champions concert.

Before that show, choir director Marshall White spoke live with Ryan Elijah twice on INC Today about their experiences in China.

The Voices of Unity members have been in China for the past week performing at the World Choir Games. The group was one of hundreds of choirs from 80 countries competing in several categories, and was only one of four American groups invited to the Games. About 25 members started returning home Sunday. The rest should come home by Thursday.

The choir spent months raising the more than $400,000 needed to travel to China for the games. Officials say they still have a $35,000 deficit from the trip and will welcome any new donations. You can do that through their site, dreamsofgold.org , or by calling the Unity Performing Arts Foundation at 260-481-6719.

Congratulations to Voices of Unity from Indiana's NewsCenter on your victories.
