FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - While the entire Harrison Square Project may not be complete, one of the key components is already paying off for the Grand Wayne Center.

The opening of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel has created a much larger list of potential clients for Grand Wayne officials.

The addition of a second quality hotel across the street is allowing the Grand Wayne to book multiple and larger events.

Bob Lister with the Grand Wayne Center says, “We had thirty or forty groups on the, not on the books, but on our list that wanted to come here, that had outgrown us, but couldn't until, wouldn't talk to us until we had that second hotel on line...and to have that inventory downtown means a great deal to us.”

One larger convention booked with the Grand Wayne Center into 2017 as a result of the new hotel.
