FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- A discarded plastic bottle containing an unknown fluid exploded and sprayed a boy with the contents after he kicked it while walking down High St.

According to the police, the boy's mother acted quickly and put him in the shower at their home, probably saving him from chemical burns. The boy was not hospitalized and appears unharmed.

FWPD and the Meth Suppression Unit investigated the bottle and it was determined that the bottle did not contain any substances used in the manufacture of Methamphetamine.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to please contact Detective Sergeant Greg Stier at 260-427-2553.
