INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - House Democrats, who boycotted the Statehouse for five weeks, will be seeing smaller paychecks, starting this week.
Democrats were fined over $3,000 for their walk-out.
The state auditor announced, Friday morning, he will deduct 20-percent of the Democrats' weekly per diem until the fines are paid.
Sources say Republicans considered taking each Democrat’s entire check to pay the fines faster, but House Speaker, Briana Bosma, decided on the lesser penalty.
