INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Democrats hope to "intercept" Indiana’s top elections office now that Secretary of State Charlie White has been ousted.
The Republican was forced to step down after he was convicted of 6 felony charges in a voter fraud trial early Saturday.
Reports say the state Democratic Party plans to have Vop Osili, White's opponent in the 2010 race.
In the meantime, White's deputy Jerry Bonnet is serving as Interim Secretary of State while the fallout from the criminal trial and a civil trial, where white was ruled ineligible to hold office, is sorted out.
