MUNCIE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Debates concerning gun policy are heating up on Ball State's Campus.
According to the Muncie Star Press, the university can—and did—legally ban guns from its campus.
With last week's report of a gunman on Ball State's Campus, followed by one on Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis’ (IUPUI) campus, the debate over gun policy has been renewed.
In 23 states, including Indiana, the decision to ban or allow weapons on campus is made by each individual college or university.
Ball State does not allow weapons on campus, whether the student, staff, or visitor has a license to carry.
Officials say this rule provides the campus with the safety it needs, but many students think a gun is a good source of protection against potential attackers.
