INDIANA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Governor Mitch Daniels put pen to paper and signed the nation's broadest private school voucher program into law.

The program would allow even middle-class families to use taxpayer money to send their children to private and religious schools.

Daniels says the voucher system opens up several options for parents.

Daniels says, “Its about the children, its about recognizing all children are precious and all children are different and what is right for one child won't be for another. Let’s trust the parents to figure out which is which.”

Also signed into law, the charter schools bill, which are public schools free of many state regulations.
