160 Curlers To Compete In Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The First Annual Curling Tournament is coming to Fort Wayne, drawing competitors from across the nation.

The tournament will take place this weekend at Canlan Ice Sports.

It is free and open to the public.

160-curlers from 22-curling clubs throughout the United States, including the Fort Wayne club will be competing.

Craig Fischer with the Fort Wayne Curling Club says, “One of our founders has competed in the Olympic Trials and the U.S. Nationals three times, and we have a number of other teams that have competed in the Nationals as well. So, it's not just going to be novice curlers out there. We're going to have some top-level curling going on next weekend.”

The Fort Wayne club is has 65-members and continues to grow.
