FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – The Fort Wayne City Council voted down a proposed outdoor expansion of Crazy Pinz and then released a lettered response to City Council.
In the letter Crazy Pinz says, "The decision made was not in our favor, that doesn’t change the fact that we are a member of the community and we look to continue to support our fellow Fort Waynians.”
Fort Wayne City Council voted down the owners' request to host outdoor activities at Northland Boulevard and Lima Road.
Opponents said the noise would negatively impact the surrounding neighborhood.
Owner Dave Kershner said he paid a company to conduct sound tests and results indicated levels were equal to normal, suburb sounds.
“We talk constantly about the brain drain and needing to get business to come to Fort Wayne but the city is not a friendly business city, and it's not going that way and I was hoping this might turn some things around.”
He also said Crazy Pinz was an establishment before any housing editions.
