MIDDLE POINT, Ohio (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Police in northwest Ohio are trying to determine if a home invasion near Middle Point is related to those in Mercer County in which two people were killed.

On Sunday, police say two people broke into the home of 27-year-old Daniel Hemker, restrained him, put him in the back of a car, drove him to a quarry then drove off the edge, plunging him into the water.

He was able to escape and walk home where he notified police.

You may recall in November Robert Grube, and his daughter Colleen were shot and killed during a home invasion in their Fort Recovery home.
