Convicted Serial Killer With Ties To FW To Be Executed

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- The convicted serial killer who has ties to Fort Wayne, is scheduled to be executed Wednesday.

Joseph Paul Franklin shot and injured civil rights leader, Vernon Jordan Jr., in 1980 while Jordan was leaving his Fort Wayne hotel.

He also shot and injured Hustler publisher, Larry Flynt. Franklin is suspected of killing up to 20 people but will be put to death in Misouri for the shooting death of 42-year-old Gerald Gordon outside a St. Louis synagogue in 1977.
