FRANKLIN, Ind. (21Alive) -- A convicted child molester faces additional charges after he became violent with law enforcement officials shortly after his verdict was read.

According to police, Michael Sloan had asked the court security guard to allow him to say goodbye to his family. When the guard refused the request, Sloan struggled to the point he had to be tazed. He then pulled the barbs of the taser out and resumed the struggle.

He was eventually taken into custody and has been charged with battery.
