DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – New graphic details have emerged about an 18-year-old Butler, Indiana man who has been charged with trying to rape an 11-year-old girl.
Dekalb County Sherriff's Office Detective Adam Friedel said an Indiana Department of Natural Conservation Officer was at the right place, at the right time to prevent an 11-year-old girl from being raped.
Officer Patrick Heidenreich was out on routine patrol when he saw a suspicious vehicle parked near the Tri State Motorcycle Club on County Road 63.
According to court documents, Delong circled the Motorcycle Club parking lot three times, before he parked.
When Officer Heidenreich approached the vehicle where 18-Year-Old Jacob Delong of Butler, Indiana was found in the process of an attempted rape of an 11-year-old girl.
According to court documents, Officer Heidenreich found the girl with her pants and underwear around her ankles and Delong between her legs.
Those same court documents said, Delong told police he was the one who had removed the girl's clothing.
Court documents also revealed the girl told him "no", fought back and kicked Delong in the "nuts" and continued moving and struggling against him and the "cop" showed up.
Delong was taken into police custody and later incarcerated on the charge of Attempted Rape a Class B Felony.
"He's here on a $10,000 dollar bond for attempted rape," said Dekalb County Sherriff's Department Detective Adam Friedel.
According to court documents, Delong told police that if they had not arrived when they did, he would be "looking at a full county of rape and child molesting."
Court documents also said Delong admitted he "dry humped" the girl while her feet were up on the front dash board.
Police said Jacob explained "dry humping" to them, by saying his covered genitals were rubbing up against the 11-year-old's covered genitals.
The girl was taken into protective custody.
Meanwhile, Indiana's NewsCenter has learned Delong was kicked out of Eastside High School in Butler.
Police believe that there may be others victims because Delong has a lengthy juvenile record, which is related to sex crimes.
Investigators are asking that victims, or anyone with any information, contact the DeKalb Sheriff’s Department at 260-925-3365.
Delong had his initial court appearance on Wednesday, January 26, 2011.
