FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Cadets compete in 43rd Annual Cpt. Homer L. Clendenen ROTC Drill Meet.

Thirteen schools from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Michigan competed in the 43rd annual Captain Homer L. Clendenen ROTC drill meet at Concordia High School Saturday.

More than 500 cadets in total represented all four branches of the military.

Concordia’s drill team began preparing for the competition in August. They practiced at 7:00 every morning before school, and then practiced again after school.

“Each year we practice, we get our teams ready, we write our own routines and then we come and perform. And this is kind of like our game every weekend type of thing. So this is our way to show what we got, show what we've been working on,” said Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Zac Heck, Concordia’s Battalion Commander.

The top three teams received awards at the end of the competition. There were individual awards given out as well.
