Color Vibe 5K Run Brightens Up Fundraising Races (PHOTOS & VIDEOS)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- There are several colorful fundraising 5k runs popping up all over the nation. The Color Run, Color Me Rad and Color Vibe are all coming to Fort Wayne this season.

The Color Vibe Fort Wayne Color Blast 5K Run kicks off the season of fundraising 5k's on June 29th. The start point for the race is the Memorial Coliseum and the event begins at 9 a.m. The event is a fundraiser for Easter Seals Arc of Northeast Indiana.

Participants begin the race in white clothes but finish covered head-to-toe in bright colors that are thrown at them throughout the run. The brightly colored powder being tossed is cornstarch dyed with food coloring. The event, which has no official times, is intended to celebrate health, happiness, and fun. After completing the course runners get to continue the party with an electrifying concert featuring DJ Streak, who has opened for the Black Eyed Peas, Taylor Swift, Metallica, and Ludacris.

The Color Run 5k, dubed the "Happiest 5k on the Planet" will take place on July 27th at Parkview Field. The Color Run chooses a charity in each community where it holds a race and raises money for those causes.

Color Me Rad comes to Fort Wayne Aug. 24 beginning at the Memorial Coliseum. According to the event website, the race is a fundraiser for Special Olympics Indiana and the event organizers hope to raise $10,000 for the cause.
