Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Over the past few months Clinton Street between State Boulevard and Elizabeth Street was closed to raise the Spy Run Creek Bridge because of flooding issues. IN-DOT has announced an update on the project’s status.
IN-DOT reports that it is currently 70 percent complete and should open at the end of the month.
IN-DOT crews are also straightening the main road into downtown, working on drainage, lighting and sidewalks.
They says the drought has made construction a bit easier this year.
Mary Foster with IN-DOT says, “It has certainly helped with the bridge, so as far as working on the bridge, that's put the bridge ahead of schedule. The main line roadway is still on schedule.”
Drivers can still expect to some lane closures through October when the project is expected to be finished.
